They Say It’s Your Birthday…

Standard

“She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.” Proverbs 31:22

Ok, so maybe I haven’t made any bed coverings yet, but I have made a table cloth- still working on decorative touches. And maybe I’d rather be clothed in blue than purple, but the point is that I’m getting there. 🙂

Today IS my birthday, in case you were wondering… and even if you weren’t. I’m having an awesome day. I woke up to the two best doggies ever in the whole world snuggling me and giving me kisses! Then pit stopped at Wal-mart to pick up drinks for dinner and movie night tonight, and then I made Birthday Blue Biscuits and Gravy.

Birthday Blue Bs and Gs

Then I set to work on a rocking birthday iTunes playlist, and successfully re-created my husband’s favorite MRE cookie- The raspberry ones with white chocolate chips. Lets hope he likes mine better than the MRE ones… :S

I’m making white bean chili for dinner tonight! It’s a favorite- I decided to not make it blue, just in case my guests were weirded out by my blue obsession. Now it’s on to clean the house and prepare for company! In spite of the fact that I’ve been cooking and cleaning all morning and afternoon, I’m having an awesome day. I love to see all the happy birthday wishes from friends on Facebook. I love you guys; thanks for making my day special. And Mitchell,  if you’re reading this, know that the only thing keeping this day from being perfect is your absence. I know you’d be with me if you could, and you’ve already celebrated with me so I can’t complain at all. I love you so much! Hurry up and sail back home so I can see you for Valentine’s Day this weekend!

I made a list of questions last night; a sort of evaluation of my 20th year of life…

  1. What is the biggest, most important thing you’ve learned about yourself?
  2. What is the biggest, most important thing you’ve learned about your spouse?
  3. What has been your greatest accomplishment?
  4. What has been your greatest failure?
  5. What has been your favorite memory? Your greatest joy?
  6. What are you most apprehensive about in the coming year?
  7. What are you most excited about in the coming year?
  8. What is your life goal for the coming year?

I’ll post my answers to those questions later on. In the mean time, I consider you to ponder the answers to those questions for yourself. Today has been so nice already. I’m so blessed to have friends all over the place, surrounding me with their love! Praise God for another year of life!

  1. This was part of the devotion I read today…thought you might like it since you’re evaluating your year…I thought that was a good idea.
